Managing Intellectual Property

The acquisition of intellectual property is a strategy that is often used to supplement or replace the process of developing the same capabilities in-house. It promises faster time-to-market with products, and it can provide advantages for competitive position and market entry. The strategy also involves risks, which can result in unexpected technical, legal, and financial outcomes.  For the product manager who is often called upon to shepherd the acquisition process, there can be many challenges to achieving success with the
acquired IP. 

In this PSN Webcast, we’ve invited - Stephan Zoder, Senior Product Manager with IBM Software Group will to share his experiences with Intellectual Property acquisition – including reseller, OEM, and outright purchase.  Mr. Zoder has dealt with the challenges of IP acquisition many times and on both the buyer and seller sides of the transaction.  He will share his tested practices, tips and lessons learned with managing IP acquisition.
