Moving down the continuum from a product-centric organization to one that is focused on building solutions may help your company boost sales, create a competitive advantage, and climb the customer relationship ladder.  However, in practice, transforming a company which is accustomed to marketing and selling products to one which is committed to selling solutions can pose significant challenges.   Creating a solutions-centric business requires changes across the entire organization - from Development and Testing to Marketing and Sales.

In this Web Forum presentation, Michael Lisanti, Director of Market Management for Ericsson, will share his experiences with planning, and implementing the right practices, processes, and organizational changes for the successful commercialization of business solutions.

Key Takeaways:

  • Important differences between product-centric and solutions-centric organizations and the changes that need to be implemented to make the transition
  • The importance of the product management (or solutions management) function in building and marketing effective solutions
  • The changes in the roles of product managers and product marketing managers needed to build and market solutions
  • An approach for creating solution requirements and testing solutions
  • Tactics used to manage and go-to-market with solutions
  • Ideas for organization structure, roles and incentives for successful solutions commercialization
  • Traps, myths, and dangerous beliefs to avoid when moving to a solutions-based model
