Suzy Teele is an instructor for the PSN Product Roadmapping and Evaluating Product Opportunities workshops. Ms. Teele's 20+ year career in technology product and marketing strategy includes executive positions with two high-growth public technology companies, Legent (now part of Computer Associates) and ServiceWare (now part of KNOVA Software.) She began her tenure at Legent as Technical Trainer, and later became General Manager of a division with 225 employees that developed and marketed 35 technology products and $200 million in revenue. At ServiceWare, she was the Sr. VP of Marketing and an executive officer. As chief executive of management consulting firm Aceda, Ms. Teele helped to launch 11 high technology and life sciences companies.
She is a frequent instructor and mentor with programs serving entrepreneurs, and she serves on the Advisory Board of Seton Hill University's National Education Center for Women.
Tom Murray
Tom Murray is an instructor for the PSN Product Positioning Strategy and Product Roadmapping workshops. He is a proven executive with over 20 years experience in high tech strategic planning, marketing and product management, for high growth firms in the United States and internationally. He has had responsibilities for over 40 technology products across more then 15 product lines in his career. He is also an adjunct professor of Strategic Planning and Product Management at Carnegie Mellon University.
In his career, Mr. Murray has served as VP of Strategic Planning and Marketing for Marconi Corporation Broadband Networking Group (now part of Ericsson), VP of Marketing and Product Management at Haley Systems (a producer of business rules management software for the enterprise), and Product Line Manager and Program Manager at FORE Systems (a manufacturer of Internet switching equipment,) and Managing Partner of Wexford Run Consulting. He began his career in field engineering and product management with various telecommunications manufacturers.
Bob Monroe
Bob Monroe is an instructor for the PSN Evaluating Product Opportunities and Product Roadmapping workshops. He has 17 years of experience in leading technology product development and teaching. In addition to serving as a PSN workshop instructor, he is a faculty member of the Carnegie Mellon University's Tepper School of Business focusing on innovation in technology industries. He is the co-coordinator of CMU's Technology Leadership MBA track, which brings the university's top-ranked schools of business and technology together in a unique and powerful program.
Prior to joining the CMU faculty in 2004, he held several technical leadership and engineering positions with FreeMarkets (a provider of innovative sourcing solutions and now part of Ariba), IBM, OptiMetrics and Carnegie Group (now part of LogicaCMG.) At FreeMarkets, he was responsible for managing product development teams, the overall design and architecture of the company's technology products, conducting technical and strategic due diligence of prospective mergers and acquisitions, and he helped to evaluate and set corporate technology strategy. In his career, he played key technical roles in the development of technology for air-traffic control, simulation, and decision-support systems. Dr. Monroe has a Ph.D. in Computer Science from Carnegie Mellon University.
Jim Berardone
Jim Berardone is an instructor for the PSN Product Roadmapping, Upstream Product Management and Evaluating Product Opportunities workshops and CEO of the Product Strategy Network. He has over 20 years of experience in leading product management departments and product teams. In his career, he has been responsible for the creation, planning and/or marketing of nearly 70 technology products in several segments including content management, product life cycle management, supply chain management, e-commerce and data integration. He has drawn on this experience and his study, observation, participation and collaboration with many product management organizations to develop the PSN Symphony® methodologies.
Prior to the Product Strategy Network, he managed software product management for Fujitsu, and led the commercialization of patented-technology for Perot Systems. Earlier, he was a product manager with Nets Inc., Industry.Net and SAE International where he led the development, marketing and delivery of hosted e-commerce software services, content management software and application software products. Jim has been part of new product innovation for over 20 years with large and early-stage companies such as Fujitsu, Perot Systems (now part of Dell Computer Corp.), AT&T/Nets Inc., Industry.net and SAE International.
